Our Advisory Panel

The advisory panel is a group of professional IT users from a variety of industry sectors. They have a vast amount of knowledge and experience within the IT security area and have been put together to help the UK Innovation Initiative bring innovation to the top of decision makers' agendas. They will help UKII create debate, advise Corporates and Innovators on what positive changes they can make to their products and processes and be the driving force behind bridging the gap between Corporate organisations and Innovative SMEs.

John Suffolk, CIO, HM Government

Government is moving forwards in engaging with the innovation the UK produces, working hard at mitigating any risks, and breaking down barriers to its adoption. I fully support the ukii's efforts to bring innovators and large enterprises together, express innovation in business language, and understand each others' mindsets.”

David King, Chairman, Information Security Awareness Forum

“Innovation Initiative UK is an important step in providing businesses with the opportunity to harness the ideas and technologies which will help to secure their business. The model of bringing together different parties and creating a mechanism for synergy is one of the core principles behind the Information Security Awareness Forum and this new initiative is build around a similar premise. It is very much to be welcomed, both from the perspective of improving information risk management, and from a standpoint of developing and encouraging business growth.”

Bhaskar Dasgupta, Head of Global PMO, Global Finance Change Programme, HSBC

"Ever since Dr. Riley requested me to participate in the Innovation Initiative UK , I have been very excited about this initiative. The United Kingdom has been noted for innovation for centuries and it is this wonderful synergistic combination of business, government, entrepreneurs, academics and scientists which will keep on giving hope and assist in the economic development to our fellow citizens. As with everything, every good idea needs a bit of a strong nudge to get off the drawing board and into the next stage of development and I am fully behind supporting this initiative."

Prof Jim Norton, Senior Policy Advisor , Institute of Directors

“The IoD warmly welcomes the establishment of the Innovation Initiative UK.  Enhancing collaboration between innovators and major business will continue to be vital to the UK’s competitive success.”

Ray Titcombe, Chairman, IBM Computer Users Association & IT Director of the National Foundation for Education Research

"This is a valuable conduit between two needy communities of ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’. Innovators are the ‘haves’, and corporates are the ‘have nots’ – they don’t know where to get it. Neither party has a common ground to meet and the Innovation Initiative does this. If it helps both the UK and British business and innovation worlds get together it’s got to be a very positive activity and I’m very pleased to be involved.”

David Lacey, Jericho Forum first Chairman and former CISO, Royal Mail

“Looks like a very good panel. And an excellent cause."

Jenny Sener, CIO, OCS Group

"Innovation is the lifeblood of successful organisations and economies.  The Innovation Initiative UK is a welcome approach to matching innovative answers to business questions."
